Contagiousness

Chickenpox is very contagious. Most children that have a friend or a sibling got effected by it also get it too if they didn't get the vaccination for Chickenpox or had them before. Chickenpox can spread through the air by coughing, sneezing, or direct contact with the fluid from the blister or the blister itself, they can also get it off someone with shingles, but they cannot get the shingles itself. That is because shingles is a skin allergy developed from the left over virus from Chickenpox. Chickenpox is very contagious for 2 days before the rash appears, then as the time goes it gets less contagious until the blister starting to burst and dry out.  The easiest way the stop it from spreading is to separate the child from people that have not been vaccinated or had Chickenpox, the other one is the all ways keep clean and wash hand frequently, especially before and after eating and using the bathroom.
